About Baldrock

Baldrock boarding kennel and cattery opened its doors in 2003 and it's now owned and run by Penny Diamond.

Penny hails from England and migrated to New Zealand in 2004.

She purchased Baldrock in 2009 and runs the kennel and cattery assisted by her 2 dogs, cat and assorted other friendly animals, who all enjoy the peaceful rural setting.

The property and location were specifically chosen with boarding kennels in mind.

It's just two minutes drive off State Highway One in a tranquil and peaceful setting amongst the beautiful rural environment of Kaiwaka, overlooking the Brynderwyn hills.

Drive time from Auckland is just over 60 minutes.

Baldrock is a small facility where personal care and attention for every pet is paramount.

Boarders are fed twice a day, toys and blankets are provided and every animal gets regular attention throughout the day.

Penny lives on site and the house is situated just 20 metres from the cattery and overlooks the kennel, 50 metres away.

A vet is on call 24 hours a day and the nearest vet clinic is just 12 minutes drive away.

The surroundings are used to full advantage, giving every pet plenty of exercise and opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in safely fenced exercise areas.

The best time is playtime and we get as much as we can!

Weather and daylight hours permitting, dogs come out 5 times a day for as much exercise as they want.

Cats have 24 hour access to indoor and outdoor play areas or, if in individual housing, their own private deck.
